You were on my favorite ship, in one of my favorite cabins...I am so sorry Julian will be leaving Enchantment...as will many of the crew because of the itenary change to Panama...I'll be sailing again on her in April and in August...this will be post Julian...I hope who ever replaces him is half as good...no one can beat Julian for fun.

Hi Michele,

Glad you liked the Enchantment. Nancy and I were on it in August and had a fantastic time! It was her 50th, so we got the RS. We really liked that ship. It seems we like the smaller ships better than Voyager class or larger.

We'll be blowing our 2008 cruise budget on the Monarch 16 day repo - so we won't be able to go on Rich and Sylvia's cruise. We wanted to, but really want to do this longer trip in October.

Stay warm

Just finished unpacking from the 12/6-10 cruise. I'm too pooped to give a full review, but here goes what I have to offer after leaving 80 degrees and returning to an ice storm.

First of all, and I think most important, I had a conversation Thursday night w/an officer (engineering). There continues to be a problem w/the ship and it will be addressed in January. In addition, and I know that bartenders aren't the best for info, but my bud, Marlon, from the Oasis Bar told me that there will be repairs made in January in Nassau.

Our cruise was great. As everyone had said, the staff is second to none. I do have a few issues which I will address in my full review. My goal is to get that out to all of you by Friday.

Cathy

Just got back 12/6 from the 5 night Enchantment...had a great cruise! We visited Grand Cayman and Ocho Rios. The staff was GREAT onboard and there were no complaints from me!!;)

My only complaint is that I don't have another cruise booked on this ship

Gina--I think Julian will remember you:) Can you grill Julian again

on if he's staying or transfering and when? I still have Sept 2008 booked.

Anita

Hi, Anita.

Well, I did it again. I booked for Jan. 26. I was supposed to go this month, but had to cancel. So I'm heading out solo again next month. Can't wait to see Julian again. Glad to hear she's getting back into shape. Still can't get over the fact that she's transferring to Panama.:(

The latest reports on the ship seem to be pretty good. I did discover that there has been a change made to the itinerary for our 1/17 cruise though. Instead of going to Coco Cay on the 2nd day, Key West on the 3rd day, and a day at sea on the 4th; we're going to Nassau on the 2nd day, day at sea on the 3rd, and Key West on the 4th. A girl in our group call RCCL and the rep told her the reason for the itinerary change is because too many ships were scheduled for Coco Cay that day. Given this itinerary change it sounds like they plan on having the electrical problems (which were effecting the speed of the ship) fixed by then...if they haven't already been. Anyway, I'm still really looking forward to this cruise!!!:D

Spoke to the DW while EOS was in Key West. She is on EOS now in a stern JS on deck 8. Great balcony.

Ship clean, but showing its age, except for the area added when it was extended, which looks great.

Air conditoning did not work or at least not well enough to get cabin under 80 degrees. Slept with the balcony doors open.

No one allowed to cabins until 1PM. Went to buffet late, so not crowded. Food OK.

Asked steward for addtional pillows for bed at about 2PM. Passed him in the hall a number of times during the day, asked again and again for pillows. Finally arrived after 8PM while getting ready for dinner. Not good.

There is a "stink" in the halls at the stern on deck 8, however cabin smells OK.

Unlike Celebrity, no bottled water is provided. Water from the tap in the bathroom sink is yellow and cloudy. Had to get a soda card to have something fit to drink.

Ate at Chops the first night, 3 hours of great food and wine. Will eat at Chops last night, if food in dining room not up to par. Formal nite will be second nite.

Got to Key West before 7AM. Nothing open for two hours. Sucks! Back on ship by 1:30.

That is all until she gets home on Saturday.

We were on the 12/6-12/10 and like others have said, my only complaint was that I had to get off on the 10th!! I didn't see any problems with A/C or speed of the ship. We seemed to be moving along at a pretty good clip at times.

I thought the ship was very clean and all the staff were great!! We had really great waiter and probably the most attentive head waiter we have ever had!

Nice ship and would love to sail her again!:D

We sailed her on December 6th and experienced none of the problems that have been mentioned in this or other threads. Food and service was very good in the dining room and excellent in Chops. We were in Chops on the night that they served escargots in the dining room, so our head waiter Emilia, arranged for us to have them on our last night onboard. Public areas were a bit warm at times but A/C worked well in our Deck 7 aft cabin. Service was very good and anything we asked of our room steward was provided promptly. Julian is the premier concierge IMHO. Casino was not kind to me, however - who can I complain to?;) Four day itinerary is such that there should be no problems getting to your various ports of call on schedule. We spent a good part of our sea day just drifting around because the distance between Key West and Port Everglades is relatively insignificant.

Well this will actually be my first time in the CL on this ship. I didn't actually get totally "experience" the Julian factor the last time I was on the ship. :) However we did chat and even danced at the disco. He stopped by my table in the DR while in "Michael" costume. I can't wait to see the whole thing in the lounge. I think I read that this will the the last sailing of his contract and maybe last on this ship. Maybe we'll get something extra special. Here's hoping!

Hi Larry & Nancy....Thanks, I do love the smaller ships..dissapointing that the Enchantment is going to Panama....

I looked at the schedule, and the Enchantment does a reposition from Panama back to Fort Lauderdale in spring 2009. Perhaps it will continue to do trips out of Florida in the summers. Summer is hot for Panama.

That would be nice...and Ft Lauderdale was so nice to fly in and out of....we actually got to the airport so early that we got to get out on standby on the 9:30 flight....
