jbaloo Posted December 12, 2007 #1 Share Posted December 12, 2007 I'm planning on visiting Kahaluu on Sunday. But I heard that on Sunday the $5 shuttle does not run. And we will already have snorkel gear so we don't need to take the shuttle for $20 including snorkel gear. Is my only other option renting a car or taking a taxi? How much would a taxi cost one way? Thanks!
Duffyy Posted December 12, 2007 #2 Share Posted December 12, 2007 I have read that there is a free shuttle from the pier to the Keauhou Resort. Kahaluu beach is a short walk from the resort. Then take the shuttle back. Duffyy

Kahalu'u is about 5 miles from the tender pier. Taxi or shuttle is definitely the way to go. beachchick

beachchick Posted December 14, 2007 #6 Share Posted December 14, 2007 oops sorry , i was thinking after i posted it might be a little further,, hee hee so the shuttles dont run on sundays ? It's funny how distances in Hawaii never seem to be quite how we remember them. Maybe because it's usually a nice drive no matter where you're going, so distance doesn't factor into the "are we there yet?" equation.:D Don't know about the shuttle as we always rent a car. beachchick
