Is it possible to go to Playa del Carmen for the port stop?

Hi! We are going to be in Cozumel for a stop in Jan on the NCL Spirit. We've already been to Cozumel, and loved it, but have wanted to see Playa. I've heard it is a ferry ride... is it possible to go over there for the day?:) Please advise!

yes u can go over the day, ferries from Cozumel to Playa del Carmen are every hour and the price is $10.00 one way, ferry ride time is 30 min, same schedules and price in the way back
