How much of downpayment is required?

We have never cruised on Carnival before. My neighbor wants to book a 7day for next Fall on the Spirit. They told her the minimum downpayment is $300 per person. That seems a little high. It would be $600 because there will be two of them. Is this correct?

 

We were recently on Royal Caribbean and they were willing to take $100 downpayment for a future cruise.

If I remember correctly, it should be $250/pp for a seven day, total of $500 for two.

It is 250 pp for a 7 day ...300 pp for longer...The Carnival Spirit is doing some 8 and 9 day cruises in the fall.The deposit on those would be 300 pp.

RC also had a deal a while back with reduced deposits. On Carnival the depo is dependant on length of cruise

Thanks, it is the 8 day and not the 7. So that's why it's $300 pp.
