longduo Posted December 22, 2007 #1 Share Posted December 22, 2007 Hi, we will sail January 10 on Insignia from Valparaiso to Buenos Aires. We are frequent cruisers, but this will be our first time on Oceania so I have several questions especially for others who have done this itinerary. What is a realistic time to arrive at the terminal? Will the pool be open the first and last days close to the hot weather ports (Valparaiso and Buenos Aires)? If the pool is closed, will the eating venues near the pool be open? Is Tapas on the Terrace all outdoors or some indoors for cold evenings? Is the dining room open for lunch on port days? Thanks in advance for your help. Longduo :)
PVCruiser Posted December 23, 2007 #2 Share Posted December 23, 2007 What is a realistic time to arrive at the terminal? Noonish. The previous pax will be off by 9-9:30 and concierge level might be able to get on before Noon. Cabins will not be ready until roughly 2:00 and lunch will not be available until Noon (upstairs in the buffet only). Will the pool be open the first and last days close to the hot weather ports (Valparaiso and Buenos Aires)? Yes on the first day (embark day). Usually no on the day of debark but certainly yes the day before. If the pool is closed, will the eating venues near the pool be open? No for Grill on embark and debark days. Open other days. Is Tapas on the Terrace all outdoors or some indoors for cold evenings? Both. The Tapas on the Terrace location is exactly the same as the Terrace Cafe (the Deck 9 plan is confusing since it implies that Tapas is only outside). Is the dining room open for lunch on port days? Usually Yes but sometimes No. The Terrace Cafe IS open. (-: PVCruiser
