recommndations for snorkeling with 5 year old

Hi all,

We are going to Belize, Cozumel and Key West with our three boys ( 9,8,6) and would like to know if anyone has found a nice area to enter from the shore to introduce them to this great activity? Only found one or two excursions that allow my 6 year old to snorkel. Thanks!:)

In Cozumel, try Chankanaab National Park. It's more grass than beach, but it has stairs to walk into the water and great reefs for snorkeling. It can get crowded and cloudy when there's a lot of people so experienced snorkelers may not love it, but it's a good way to start out the kids.

If your kids haven't snorkeled before, purchase kid-sized masks and snorkels now and have them practice in the tub. If you can find a pool to practice in it's even better.

 

Be sure to bring their masks and snorkels with you on the cruise.
