ahotcouple Posted December 30, 2007 #1 Share Posted December 30, 2007 If we use our credit card as our form of payment, does Carnival charge your credit card for every transaction you make on the ship or is it all charged in 1 lump sum on the last night (including the gratuities)? We would prefer to have our credit card on file, but want the option of paying it all in cash at the end of the cruise (including the gratuities)so our card is not charged at all. We want to go home without any "post cruise" expenses to worry about :) Thanks in advance!
bubbles1209 Posted December 30, 2007 #2 Share Posted December 30, 2007 I don't have any prior experience with credit cards, we always use traveler's cheques. Why not just use cash instead?
CruzVinnieCruz Posted December 30, 2007 #3 Share Posted December 30, 2007 It's a lump sum at the end but they will put a credit hold on your card. We use a credit card to open the account but put cash on the account during the cruise and are charged the difference at the end of the cruise. Your CC statement will show a single "lump" transaction. While on the ship, a record of each transaction [such as whether you bought a Coke] will be available to you
