Atlantis Aquaventure Package -

Has anyone done this excursion through RCL? I see that Atlantis does not offer a day pass and wondered if this tour is worth the "price" through RCL. I normally like to book independent tours, but doesn't look like I'll be able to get one to Atlantis where I can use all the water slides, pools, etc.

Any and all information will be greatly appreciated!

Atlantis currently offers a dayPass for $105pp, based on occupancy.

You can take a cab or ferry to atlantis for $3/4 pp.. and get a pass in the casino, or book with RCL.

In high season or special events, booking with RCL would be guaranteed, while passes may or may not be available at Atlantis during those times.

you can see quite alot for free too at atlantis, I really didn't think the tour with the ship was that great, took too long to get to atlantis like 1 1/2 hours by the time we got there then they walk you slowly through atlantis not really giving you time to do anything. and the aquarium you pay for can mostly be seen free, there wasn't really that much in there. we broke free from the group and did our own thing there. we had 6 ships in port and they were selling tons of tickets at atlantis in the casino.

do it on your own

]Is the price the same $105 for adults as for kids? Still wondering IF it is really worth the extra mile of booking a room at the comfort suite hotel for the day's full use of Atlantis, and will we use it to the fullest..... I know we will end up going back to the ship for a early dinner, and than venture back out, since we are there from 9am till 1am We are really interested in the water park, seeing all we can of the grounds and defentily not being rushed through on a tour

Hi,

My husband and I just booked a 4 day cruise with Royal Caribbeans and one of the stops will be in Nassau, Bahamas. I've heard a great deal about Atlantis's Aquadventure and I was just curious to know if it's really worth the $165 per person offered through RCL? Some sites says it's only a 3 hour excursions while others says it can be an all day excursion because there are ferrys that travels back and forth between Atlantis and the cruise ship ports every 30 mins until 5pm. If you bring your own snorkel gear, will Atlants allow you to use them or would you have to rent one of theirs? What is all included in this package besides the lunch voucher that they provide you with. Any help will be greatfully appreciated. Thanks! :D

I am booked on RCI too but will just do a day pass at Atlantis because its CHEAPER, even paying the taxi OR the bus!

You may want to rethink that.. since you are going smack in the middle of spring break season and day passes may be sold out quickly or limited due to capacity. For a guarantee.. purchase thru the ship.

Depending on the hours you are in port and how many people are in your party- you may also consider booking a room at the comfort suites. The range I've seen is between $200 - $400 for the night, but allows full access to Atlantis. We've stayed there many times to save $$ but still use the features and amenities of Atlantis- could be a great bargain. :D

I am weighing my opinions with carnival's excursion, comfort inn and just getting a day pass from the atlantis.

Does anyone know the age cutoff for children. My kids will be 14 and 12 when we go. I know that the 14 year old is considered an adult but is he still considered an adult for the excursions thru carnival? How about directly thru the atlantis?

How much would a typical lunch cost there? Hamburger/fries, etc. Nothing fancy? I see that a cab will cost about $30-$35 round trip. Maybe just doing the excursion thru carnival will come out to just about the same cost?

Thanks for any help

I believe the cut off for Atlantis is UNDER 12 is considered a child. So both of your kids would pay as an adult.

It does make sense, since the aquapark is really made for kids your age.

Hi. I will be going to Nassau in December. I really want to go to Atlantis but I am not really interested in the actual pools or water slides. I just want to go there and see their aquarium. Does anyone know how much it is just to visit their aquarium? Thanks.

Last year we booked a room at the Comfort Suites for they give you full acesss to Atlantis and it's waterpark/beach and they are located right across the street from Atlantis. I believe we paid $250 for 2 adults and a child. We saved $50 vs the passes from Atlantis, but you never know if you will be able to secure the passes from them since they are limited. Vs the ship excursion we saved $100. We got to the Atlantis around 11am and for the heck of it I checked to see if they had any passes for sale~sold out.

The Comfort Suites give you the Atlantis wrist bands when you check in and you can if you want check out the same time.

We just booked the Comfort Suites for our Aug '08 Carnival cruise and it was $254 for the three of us and you can cancel within 24hrs of check in. Remember you have to take a taxi to and from Atlantis at 4 bucks a piece each way( last years price ). This still by far out does the Carnival price of $155 ea. adult and $121 ea. child. HTH

You can visit the aquarium by purchasing a DIGS pass for $35. they are available in the casino at the center kiosk.

I think kids are $26..

You can not cancel 24 hour prior this time of year. For my room at the Comfort Suites Paradise Island on March 17, we have until March 12 to cancel.

I am thinking of booking Atlantis thru Carnival. It's $126/pp without lunch...$30 extra for lunch. There are 5 of us and we will be there on New Year's Eve Day. We're in Nassau from 11 am to 10 pm. So a few questions:

Can we skip the tour when we get to Atlantis and just go to the water slides? I don't want to waste time touring...I figured we could look around after we're done in the water.

How late do the slides/lazy river stay open? We would want to take a cab back since the cruise transportation stops at 5:30 and we would want to see the casino afterwards. How much is a cab?

Are there changing facilities we can use when we're done with the pool area?

I can't do Comfort Suites because there are 5 of us, and anyway they have no rooms available that day.

Scubagirl, do you think Atlantis will be totally packed since it's a holiday week? I don't want to spend $600+ and only be able to get on each slide once

One other question...is there a regular pool we can hang out in that's near the water slides?

Thanks for everyone's help! :D

Good idea to book with a tour.. since day passes will likely be sold out. Not sure I'd pay $30 extra for lunch. you can pick up a burger or wrap for about $8 - $10.

Once you get there.. I think you can leave the tour..

The slides close around 4:30 pm in the winter months. The pools close around 5. Cabs run $5pp back to the ship.

Are there changing facilities we can use when we're done with the pool area?

Yes, there are lockers and changing rooms available

yes, it will be totally packed.. with guests as well as tons of cruisers.

As for lines.. get there early. Mid day is a hassle. Lazy river and current are available without a wait.

One other question...is there a regular pool we can hang out in that's near the water slides?

Yes, sort of, but I don't remember which ones. Check one of the online maps. The thing is.. you're either near the entrance or the exit. But not both.

Thanks for everyone's help! :D

Thanks Scubagirl...you're quick! :) OK so I guess it probably won't be worth it since we don't dock until 11...by the time we get off the ship and get to Atlantis it will probably be 1  So if the slides close at 4:30, we won't have much time to slide :( Oh well...plan B is to go to the Sheraton/Wyndham :D
