gypsyrose Posted January 3, 2008 #1 Share Posted January 3, 2008 Planning to do the falls in April. Most of the tours seem to include tubing which we do not want to do. Should we just get off the ship and take a cab to the falls then come back and do some shopping and hit Margaritaville or someplace for lunch? Don't want to book thru the ship, hoping to get there before the mass crowds. Or should we go w/ a guide who will take us to the falls then maybe back to the shopping area? Thanks for all your help. fnewman Posted January 4, 2008 #2 Share Posted January 4, 2008 You will easily find a driver who will take you wherever you like - just decide where and negotiate the price in advance. Dunn's River is too far and risky to walk from most cruise docks (not because of people - its the highway). If you go straight to the falls and do that first you will avoid some of the crowd that will arrive by party boat, etc. Then have your driver take you the Almond Tree for lunch, followed by shopping at the main craft market and shop across the street. gypsyrose Posted January 4, 2008 Author #3 Share Posted January 4, 2008 Thanks Frank. Wasn't sure if just getting a taxi at random was safe since so many people say negative things about Jamaica. Tell me about this place for lunch.....
