Dolphin encounter in Freeport or Nassau?

Can a person oboserve the Dolphin encounter without actually participating in it. My son loves dolphins and I thought that maybe he and my husband could do this, but I'd love to watch. There are five of us, and the cost adds up quickly if we all do it. Or do you know if you choose to do the Blue Lagoon 5 hour tour thing, can you add on the dolphin encounter, sort of combine the excursions?
