Already Booked-Can I get a PVP?

I've already booked a cruise using the Carnival website on my own. Can I still get a PVP? When it's time I'd like to use one for booking my shore excursions. Will they work with people already booked for the cruise?

 

I'm confused about the difference between having a PVP contact you and calling the 888#. Thanks!

A PVP can make out calls and send e-mails to solicit cruise business........when you call the 888 number you get a CVS (cruise vacation specialist) who can help you with your needs, but they don't make calls to solicit.

 

Personally my PVP that was assigned is always WAY late notifying me of specials......I worked with a CVS for an issue a few cruises ago and he was wonderful. So much so that I call him directly for all of my future bookings. I've never booked with the PVP.

 

You probably have been assigned a PVP......you can always call and ask to be assigned one. Or assigned another if you have a problem with one.

PVP's are awesome to help you plan your cruise, and assist you from that moment until you return from your cruise. I've dealt with mine for years and would NEVER book a cruise any other way.

 

However, since you booked your cruise on the Carnival website, the damage has been done. You will need to contact the 1-888-CARNIVAL number for assistance. The agents that answer the phone are there to take inbound calls from people that booked online, or through the 888 number. It's impersonal and since you'll be getting a different person every time you call, you will also get a different answer or level of professionalism every time.

 

Just my opinion, but for future reference, get a good PVP and stick to him/her. Mine is awesome and she has bent over backwards to keep us happy year after year. She's been on several Carnival cruises and visited most destinations in the Caribbean and is always ready to share her opinions on the best activities and excursions, whether they are through Carnival or not...

I have my guys extension........when I call he always says "Hello Mr.____ , are you calling about the ____ cruise or you looking for information about another sailing"

 

Not every CVS/customer relationship is impersonal........my PVP has done nothing for me except send me outdated sales info (I consider it outdated because 9 out of 10 times.....I've read about it here days before I get his e-mail).
