Cabbage Beach....how far from the Atlantis?

I have heard that Cabbage Beach is one of the nicest beaches in the Bahamas.

How far is it from the Atlantis hotel? Is it within a short walk or is a taxi required?

Also, are beach chairs and refreshments available nearby?

Cabbage Beach is one of the nicest beaches in the area, but certainly not in the bahamas (there's 700 islands and cays).

It's located just up the beach from Atlantis, but unfortunately, not a simple walk due to construction. It's about a 10 minute walk from Atlantis, to the public entry point next to the RIU.

Chairs can be rented for $10, but there are no other amenities except a few locals vendors selling rum drinks from gallon jugs on the beach.

If you would like more "amenities", head to the Cable Beach Resorts (wynhdam or Sheraton) at Cable Beach. For a $15 fee, you get a chair, towel service and amenities such as bar/grill/ restrooms, gift shops and casino.

YOu can take the $1 Jitney from downtown, or a taxi.

Thanks Suba girl.

We wanted to spend part of the day at the Atlantis, having lunch there and visiting the casino. We then wanted to head to a beach nearby, before heading back to the ship.

Would you recommend going back to cable beach instead? I tought that Paradise Island had the nicest beaches.
