ocean lab - ??

I'm sorry if this is a stupid question. What is the ocean lab on the Explorer? :confused:

It's an aquarium with tropical fish in it. It is built in the wall on the ship.

Sorry to correct you but what you described in the Aquarium bar. The Oceanographic Lab is a full lab with visiting scientists and is the only lab of it's kind on a cruise ship in the world.There is both a oceanographic component and a atmospheric section. You can take a tour of both and there is a book to sign up for the tour. The only offer the tour a couple of times throughout the cruise so I would sign up early if you are interested. It was very interesting.

I forgot to add that they show a short movie that explains the whole lab and the projects it is doing. The lab is conjunction with I think the University of Miami but I am having a senior moment so not positive.

Ty Sue for the correction! Is this something new that has been added to the ship? I don't recall this being on the ship when I cruised 2004.
