Post cruise car rental Miami

After the cruise we have an extra day. I am looking to rent a car, but see that there are no agencies right at the port. Can anyone tell me the best way to get to an agency? Should I take a taxi back to MIA, a taxi to an agency nearby????

I heard that Hertz, has an agency right by the port and they give you transportation to the air port also, I am not brave enough to drive in Miami, but from reading other web sites thats about all I can tell you ;)

You can take a 5 minute taxi ride to the Avis car rental in Downtown Miami. I think they may even have an Avis shuttle to pick you up. Driving is fine.....:)

You can get an ALAMA or HERTZ rental car right at the pier.

Sorry ... should have mentioned that both Alamo and Hertz offer free shuttle from airport to the pier / pier to airport.
