Sundsgn Posted January 11, 2008 #1 Share Posted January 11, 2008 Ok, this is probably going to be strange but here goes... There is a salmon appetizer that I love, which is the kind that is actually cooked, and usually comes with red onion. (Not the lox for breakfast). The other one, which I dislike, seems raw, but I think it is just cured differently, and is kind of gooey and mushy. Does anyone know which is which by name on the menus? One is called Hickory Smoked Salmon, there is another called Heat Cured Atlantic Salmon. I hate to order them both, and completely waste one thinking it is like the other. Does that make sense? nolaAlive Posted January 11, 2008 #2 Share Posted January 11, 2008 Never heard of the heat cured one. Hickory smoked is just that and comes with red onion, capers, and dill. It is delicious! Actually make that purple onion...
