It's a little difficult to see the fabric. But it looks like sheer black over a light underslip, which sort of makes it look like a nightgown.

It's formal enough, since on cruise ships, you are supposed to wear full length gown or cocktail dress on their ''formal'' nights. Gorgeous dress!

Lovely dress!!! If you want to snaz it up a bit....just sew on a splash of black sequins across the bodice. Top and lock the sequins with black seed beads. Probably 20 across the bodice...and you've just added a little glitz to an already great dress!!! (or not!!! lol...)
