Life Jackets?

Are life jackets a common rental item at the dive shops? We want to take our kids snorkeling in Cozumel, but would feel more comfortable if they were wearing life vests. We do own our own life jackets, but would rather not pack them...

You can rent them easily, but the rent was $7 each where we rented them, so we bought ours online (since we go often). I also liked the security of pulling a cord and having the air go in, so we bought the kind with the air cartridges. But if you just want the plain ones, that you blow up, they don't cost much..several on eBay as well. Some people don't like the ones with the crotch strap, but for kids, I think that's good.

Do a Google search for "snorkel vest" and you'll get lots of possibilities. We just bought ours from JoeDiverAmerica (here's the page), but most of sites' vests look identical. BTW, although they don't show this on the web pages, don't be surprised if yours arrive with the vendor's name stamped on the vests.
