AJs Grandpa Posted January 12, 2008 #1 Share Posted January 12, 2008 Pictures of the fitness center make it look like they have new exercise machines with individual TVs instead of the "community" TVs on older ships. True? If so, how do users get sound? Must they bring their own headsets to plug in? Radios to tune to broadcast frequency? Other? Thanks.
mycruz Posted January 12, 2008 #2 Share Posted January 12, 2008 It's true! Each person has a headset that allows them to listen to and watch on the treadmill. There are clean disposable earcovers to change out as you enter the workout. I didn't notice any radio, I caught up on missed episodes of Grey's Anatomy. One less thing to bring for a big improvement from the old community TVs without sound. Will reduce the drudgery of those all-important morning workouts. AJs Grandpa Posted January 12, 2008 Author #5 Share Posted January 12, 2008 I can't ever get a treadmill in the morning LOL I wait till early afternoon Jan We try to stick to our normal morning schedule and are at the gym before 7AM. Other than the first day, we never had problems getting machines on the Sun last year. Hope we have the same experience on the Emerald in March. You're a better person than I am if you can break away from afternoon activities and/or naps to exercise in the middle of the day. Hate to sound like one of those tiresome fanatics, but a health issue finally scared me into learning where the gyms are on cruise ships. Now I just accept it as a necessity. Able to eat (almost anyway:) ) what I wanted and gained only three pounds on a 10-day cruise last year. Hoping for the same result this year. Does anyone know if this is also true for the Grand Princess? That would be great!!!
