For all those who have booked or are going to book the AOS - read this!

I think this thread is long overdue.

Each week I see at least 2-3 posts regarding the Adventure of the Seas, people who have booked and are now afraid they made a mistake - and people who have yet to book, that may not ever book because of what they read on here.

As many of you know, I have cruised on the AOS 3 times and have had wonderful cruise vacations on all 3. I am sailing again next month on my 2nd B2B on the AOS and I am eagerly anticipating another fantastic cruise! :)

Here are a few commonly asked questions about the AOS:

Q: Does the AOS have a large amount of Puerto Ricans sailing on her for most cruises?

A: Yes, there are Puerto Rican's on cruises out of San Juan. It is their home port and I would be very surprised if they weren't.

Q: Are the announcements in Spanish as well as English?

A: Yes they are. Is it an issue? No.

Q: Are Puerto Ricans rude and rowdy?

A: No more rude and rowdy than other passengers I have seen on other ships and other itineraries. Puerto Ricans are a lively bunch :)

Q: Is the AOS a sick ship, or more prone to Noro than other ships?

A: No. The AOS has as much chance of a noro outbreak as any other ship in the RCI fleet.

Q: I have booked the AOS and after reading negative reviews, I want to cancel - what should I do?

A: You can cancel you cruise if you want, but you will be missing out on a fantastic cruise on a great ship sailing on a wonderful itinerary!

I do understand that some people have had negative experiences on the AOS - but the same can be said for any other ship. There will always be people cutting in line, pushing elevator buttons, chair hogging and the list goes on......unfortunately, some people like to leave their manners at home :(

My experiences have been terrific on the AOS and I would encourage anyone to sail on her and see for themselves what a great ship she is!!

Yes....I am an AOS cheerleader, and proud of it!!!

I JUST DONT UNDER STAND WHY I saw this same post for the last year !!!!

Can someone who has been to a meet n mingle on the AOS Barbados route recently please tell me when the event was scheduled?

Thanks,

Ken

Ken - if you look at the confirmed meet and mingle list, you can see that it is likely going to be held on the Monday at 11:00 a.m in the Blue Moon Lounge....:o Provided it follows the pattern of previous M&M's ;)

Hi Robyn. Thanks, I never even thought to check there for past cruises. Day / time makes perfect sense. I hope they stick to that. It means less time in the sun on the first day but I'm prepared to make that sacrifice! lol

BTW, did you ever get info on the new CD? When does she take over? I was really looking forward to sharing 'shwa jokes with Chris Northey as I spent 16 years in purgatory there!

Nothing yet, but I did hear that Mercedes just boarded last Sunday - so I suspect we may hear something next week when people get off the ship after her first week.

Oshawa huh? Not a whole heck of a lot in Oshawa - unless you are into cars of course!

..yep it's a tough job but someone's....you know. On the bright side, only 5 more years! lol

Retiring in 5 years????? Where do I sign up for that???

I am going to live on a cruise ship permanently when I retire :D

I am the General Manager of a luxury retirement residence here in Toronto and I know what it costs......it's actually cheaper to live on a cruise ship!!!!

OMG Robyn, you sound like my DW. We know our kids aren't going to be able to afford the place you manage so she's always talking about selling the house & retiring on a cruise ship!

CKRobyn,

Did you ever get any information on the day pass for the Hilton in Barbados? Just wondering what you were planning to do in the ports of Barbados, St. Croix and Antigua?

Yes I did. I contacted the hotel via email and was told that they do in fact sell day passes. They suggest contacting them a few days before arrival to confirm whether or not they have space available....not sure this is what we will do though as the hotel does not have many amenities other than the pool :o

Does anybody recall if AOS does the Mystery Dinner on the Southern Caribbean route?

Yes, I believe there is :) I'm sure I have seen the flyers for it, but I have not participated on the AOS. I did the Murder Mystery dinner on the Radiance and had a great time!
