Gift Cards for Onboard Bill?

Does anyone know if NCL accepts Visa or AmEx gift cards to pay off part of the onboard expense tab? We received a few for Christmas gifts, but I don't know if they be accepted.

You can use them in advance for OBC. I had a sizable gift card and called NCL to get an OBC.

However beware, I don;t know what type of other gift card besides Am Ex, but i had a Visa card and I attempted to give myself a 500 onboard credit and the card was declined several times. For some reason the bank kept tacking on some type of service charge. Turned out I could only put $475.00 on my OBC acct.

Also if do that make sure that you check the OBC the first day you board ship. Mine was missing and they had to email Miami, it took 5-6 days for a response. I even had the receipt. In the end all was well.

Enjoy your cruise.
