queenbead Posted January 17, 2008 #1 Share Posted January 17, 2008 I did a search and did not find my answer, so please be patient with me if I am asking something that has been gone over before. We will be in Barbados on a Sunday and I thought that I had read on this thread that many of the stores and things were closed on Sundays. We really did not want to book anything for the day, but just kick around. What is open and close by the ship on a Sunday? Thanks for your advise in advance, Tammy

Thanks for your advise in advance, Tammy Hi Tammy, my DH and I have been to Barbados on a Sunday on one of our other cruises. As I remember, we did the swim with the turtles/shipwreck tour and then we headed (by taxi) over to "the Boat Yard". As we drove thru town, it was definetly quiet. Everything was closed except for a little group of vendors. We will probably just head over to "the Boat Yard" again this time. I think we are on the same cruise.....Emerald Princess? 3/25/08?:)
Sunniebgi Posted January 18, 2008 #3 Share Posted January 18, 2008 not much is open on Sundays.. Grocery stores and gas stations, mostly. You may find the shops in the port area open (but some may not). There maybe a few vendors around the port area, or beach vendors who will be open but not much else. Now if you are going to be in Barbados on Easter Sunday.. forget it.. Closed up tighter than a drum.. well ok.. the gas stations will be open.. and likely some beach vendors.. but not much else.. ninnie Posted January 24, 2008 #5 Share Posted January 24, 2008 Thanks for the answers! I am going to be in Bridgetown this Easter Sunday. I was thinking of booking an excursion through the cruise line to see the Gay rum distillery but not too sure about it being a holiday Sunday...
