Unlimited Alcohol Card?

We are doing the all inclusive on our cruise in December on the Trimuph..so yes a all inclusive can be bought, like a previous poster stated you have to have 30 people or more and everyone must buy into the all inclusive whether it be alcohol or a soda card.

Ours is 280.00 per person for a 7 day cruise.

I'd say it is definately worth it.. considering $40 a day.. Some of the drinks can be $10 or over depending on what is ordered. Laying out by the pool... in the casino, dance clubs.. relaxing at the piano bar... at Dinner.. or even in your cabin.

Yes I would jump on that.

Really, it's like they've never heard of all inclusive resorts either. I personally think it would be nice...then you already have the cost budgeted into your trip and you don't have to watch your spending so closely.

It is not a great deal for everyone. The reason why we would never patronize an all inclusive resort or ship is we do not feel we want to subsidize other people's alcohol consumption because we do not drink anywhere near what it would take to get our money's worth.

Well it's not hard to spend 40.00 a day on a cruise, whether it be water, pop, wine or liquor....

I've been thinking an "all inclusive" cruise would be great as well. I have heard that they exist - may have to check them out. We go to Mexico quite a bit and almost always stay in AIs - we do drink alot, but we are not drunkards by any means. We don't stay in AIs to save money on drinking (even a heavy drinker isn't going to save money - I think it evens out in the end), it 's just more convenient to walk up to the bar or eat in a restaurant without having to sign something every time.

Happy Cruising!

That would be a lot of water and pop. But for wine or liquor I agree that for some it would be easy to spend that much. $40 of alcohol would equate to 6-8 small or medium size drinks or 10 beers. But for me that is beyond my consumption limit (both monetary and alcoholic)

Not when a large bottle of water is over 5.00 and pop is what....3.95 or so...and a bottle of wine with dinner..well it all adds up. It may be beyond your monetary & alcoholic consumption..but it's a reality for a lot of people..and alcoholic drinks can run 6.95 or more each ..so I guess what I'm saying is that for a lot of people it is a bargain...

I was wanting to know if you could purchase a card for unlimited alcohol, like you can for soft drinks? Im going on my first Cruise Saturday Jan. 26,2008 on the Carnival Fantasy out of New Orleans. If anybody has any advise that would make my Cruise more enjoyable, please feel free to let me know. :)

Actually several cruise lines let you order alcohol in advance. We did it on NCL and this time we'll be doing it on Carnival Spirit. It's called a bar set up. They offer an assortment of liquors and wines by the bottle. Just tell them what you would like-pay by credit card and it will magically be in your room when you board.

For a Carnival bar set up call 1-800-522-7648

Also, remember this has to be arranged before your sail date-they won't do it if you have already boarded. Also, the prices may be a little high, but depending on how much you will drink-it could save you money over buying individual drinks. I hope this helps.

Regent , Silversea and Seabourn are all inclusive and have no extra charges except the spa and tours. Never have seen anyone drunk. Very expensive but you get what you pay for...

People willing to pay the freight to sail on these lines expect champagne and caviar..... and are not the type of sailors pumping down shooters and Dos XX's

It seems to me posters here are making a lot of assumptions as to how "all inclusive" your Triumph trip will be.

So what will your $280 include  I assume well drinks, beer, and maybe glasses of wine at dinner are included. But are call drinks, premium beers, premium wines also included

With the liquor card it includes ALL LIQUOR. UP TO $11.00 per glass I beleive is the limit on each drink, so it doesnt cover the really high dollar stuff but covers just about everything pretty much.

I have not heard of the bar set up, so I was wondering can you order a certain type of beer and a bottle of rum to be delivered to your cabin? I didn't think they let you have bottles of liquor in your room. I have bought rum from the shop on the ship but they kept it until the last night.

The all inclusive includes all liquor, beer and wine, water, pop etc..up to a certain amount per drink, although I don't think it's up to 10.00 or 11.00 it may be up to 7.95. Anything above the amount is charged to your sign and sail card. ...I have also known people who have used it and the mini bar in their cabin was included too...

We will see how well it works out. And when we return I will post a review on it...until then anyone can speculate on how it works. I just know of several people who have booked a large group and used it and it worked out fine for them.

You have to call the Bon-Voyage dept at Carnival to get this....you can't get it from the gift shop on the ship, but you can call room service for a drink.

Well I am not sure the exact details but I do know that water and soda are NOT included in the liquor card, it is only for LIQUOR and if you want all the soda you have to get the soda card. At least that is what my TA told me. And the price of the drinks is around $10 - $11 or so, also from my TA. Now we havent signed the contracts on this yet so I dont know for SURE only know what she told me. But we sign them at the end of next month and it will have those details in it so I will make sure I read them closely. Have you read your contract? If so what is it saying regarding that? I will post once I get a look at it.

Open Bar and Wine Program includes open bar and wine at all bars (bottled wine service for dinner). Inclusive of Gratuities. Open Bar and Wine Program will include all beers, malt beverages, liquors, sodas, small bottles of water, and non-alcoholic beverages priced at or below $7.50. A selection of fine wines by the glass consisting of sparkling wine, white zinfandel, white wine, and red wine will be offered at all bar locations. All bottled wines served in the main dining room with dinner will be selected at the discretion of Carnival with both red and white wines being offered each night.

Open Bar and Wine Program is exclusive of drinks over the price of $7.50; any wine by the glass other than those offered in the program; souvenir glass drinks; bottle sales of liquor, wine and/or champagne; large bottles of natural spring water; in-cabin mini bars and/or any other in-cabin beverage program; beverages or drinks ordered through room service; cigars; cookbooks and/or bar books; coffee and/or food items from the Coffee Shop Café; and any retail purchases or service charges. FULL DETAILS on this program are sent at time of booking.

Now this says it's exclusive of drinks from in-cabin mini bars and other in-cabin beverage programs.....but I know people who have used the all inclusive card and they WERE'NT charged for the minibar in their cabin..so there you have it.....

Like I said I will wait until we go and use it.....and the price of drinks can be 10 or 11 bucks.....but you will have to pay anything OVER the 7.50 amount..that's how it's been in the past...so I think your TA is not quite on the right track there...

Well hey thanks for that, I havent seen our contract yet b/c we wont finalize it till the end of next month but I will review mine and make sure it is the same as the details you posted. If so that is even better for me b/c it includes sodas and water, I was expecting to have to pay for that. I would think that average drink will be in the $7.50 range wouldnt you? Except for the top shelf stuff and the high dollar wines of course.

I am pretty sure that on every line there is a clause in the contract that lets them cut you off if you've drunk so much you're a danger to yourself or other passengers. Even those non-US airlines that provide free drinks to international passengers in coach will cut people off (they'll cut off business class and first too if they want to). So an all inclusive doesn't necessarily mean you can drink yourself to death.

Yes, when you call they will either email or read off a list of brands. I think the bottles are 1 liter and cost between $35-$55 depending on the brand. Same with beer or wine. They have several different brands of everything-rum, vodka, whiskey, scotch, beer etc. This is different from buying it from the shop on board. You have to arrange this in advance and pay with a credit card. Your drinks will be in your cabin when you first embark. If you don't end up drinking it all-you can take it off the ship with you. Again the number to call is 1-800-522-7648

Who said anything about drinking ourselves to death........angry-smiley-004.gif
