Has anyone had experience with the slots pay outs on the new Gem?

Any good machines to play?

I've been on the Gem twice.

 

First time was the transatlantic. I won $1,000 on the Wheel of Fortune machine closest to the hallway that leads to the theater about 3 days before disembarkation. I ran up about 9 points on my CAS card that sailing. (If that tells you anything... it doesn't tell me much. :confused: )

 

Second time was 1/5-1/16, and won $600 on a quarter machine (don't remember which one -- it was on the row of short machines in front of the WoF machines, about three up from that end, facing the windows) just after half-way through the cruise. I ran up 26 more points on my CAS card on that sailing.

 

Those were just the big wins, but there were several smaller (e.g., $80-$300) wins, too.

 

People were complaining that the slots were tight, but that might have been their way of bemoaning loss? ;)

Thanks for the heads-up. I don't think that any slots can be tighter than those on HAL - may as well toss the $$$$ overboard.

Ahhh, see, while Becky was lucky on Gem (and I definitely was NOT), I did win $1000 on Volendam, and my roommate won almost $1,800 on Noordam!

 

One thing I like about the newer slots on NCL is the variable amount option (and the ticket system). If I'm playing quarters and win a bit, I can switch to 50-cents or $1 without changing machines. I love that, but alas, on Gem I never got that option.

Come on people...! You are on a ship, not Vegas, where there is competition to get you in their casino door. There will be winners on the slots, but far less payout than donations ! If you want to win, your odds are better on the tables !

Best rule of thumb when gambling.....Don't gamble what you can't afford to lose !

Because of you, I have seen the light and will change my ways. If you could let me know where you'll be sermonizing next, I'll do my best to catch it; who knows -- you might help me organize my desk, lose weight, fold my underwear properly... the possibilities are endless!

just returned today from the Gem and too many hours in the casino--I asked the mgr what the slots pay back --he said 90%--

but I know during the 10 days there were at least 6 royal flushes --that paid up to 1600.

they have about 10 25 cent poker machines and many 1 cent and 2 cent machines

I agree Jana where do I sign up!

I have friends just back from the Gem he won $20k on the $5 poker and $4k on the dollar Game but same machine he said he thinks they are going to toss it overboard! may not be there for my cruise lol
