momonmeds Posted January 22, 2008 #1 Share Posted January 22, 2008 Help, I think I've made a horrible mistake!! I just booked air on Delta through travelocity into Long Beach airport rather than LAX, now how do I get to the pier?? I tried to get into my cruise reservation to see if they have transfers from Long Beach, but it won't let me. I've already spent half the morning making these reservations, and don't want to get back on hold with RCCL for another hour. Any ideas? Thanks!! househunter Posted January 22, 2008 #2 Share Posted January 22, 2008 Both times we have sailed out of San Pedro we flew in to Long Beach. It is actually closer to the pier than LAX and a much smaller airport. We just grab a cab.:)
GeorgetteCruz Posted January 22, 2008 #3 Share Posted January 22, 2008 I agree. I unfortunately can't remember the cost of the cab...maybe $40 give or take? They had a set/posted rate, as they do that route so much. You did not make a mistake, as flying into Long Beach is MUCH better. Small airport, easy to deal with, closer to the port. larie Posted January 22, 2008 #4 Share Posted January 22, 2008 Yes, we use to live in the area. Count yourself lucky to be flying into Longbeach rather than LAX. We are flying into Orange Cty to avoid LAX ourselves.
momonmeds Posted January 22, 2008 Author #5 Share Posted January 22, 2008 Thanks so much for the reassurance. Are there cabs just around? What about getting back to the airport?
athena73 Posted January 25, 2008 #6 Share Posted January 25, 2008 Thanks so much for the reassurance. Are there cabs just around? What about getting back to the airport? There is a cab stand just outside the airport, right next to the rental car building. Its an easy walk from where you pick up your luggage. Long Beach is a great little airport. GeorgetteCruz Posted January 25, 2008 #7 Share Posted January 25, 2008 Yes, the cab stand is right straight across the street, when you come out of the airport. Getting a cab back is easy, as the cruise terminal has loads...dropping off passengers for the next cruise. No problem!
