Hi all!! I will be sailing 10/10 for a 3 day to the Bahamas with my 18 yo niece and nephew. I have never done such a short cruise but it should still be fun. I wouldn't have picked this cruise but I actually won this trip from Carnival back in Nov when I was on the Celebration. Anyways, I have enjoyed reading everyone post about the ship and can't wait for Oct to come so we can go. Thanks!!

Hey folks! I know I may have brought this up in the past BUT???? Has anyone whom just recently got off Imagination noticed what type of chairs are on the balconies???? The reason I ask this is because I am a little on the large size (275 lbs and 6 foot tall) and have heard they had some cheapo Walmart style chairs on the balconies? Id probably end up breaking one of these after a couple of buffets? He he he! I have also heard that Carnival were in the middle of changing over to the aluminum (silver or gray in colour) chairs for safety reasons (fire) I have booked a Cat 12 room so Im hoping the chairs will have changed over by now? Many thanks to someone whom can answer this questions Thanks Mikil

We just got off the Imagination ( 6/7-6/12) and she is beautiful!

Just so you know we were a family of four adults and 2 kids (10 and 16).

There is so much to say!

Go to www.flickr.com/photos/mathisfamily for pictures of the ship and ports of call.

1.The food - We have had better on cruise ships but over all it was good. We mainly ate at the Horizon buffet and only once in the main dining room. We just don't go for dressing up much. There is a sandwhich place that is open just about all day long and the servers are great! They smiled and sang the whole time. If you like a rueben, theirs is the tops! The burgers and fries are good too. The pizza is ok. The 24 hour ice cream was good. Our favorite was the midnight mexican buffet! Breakfast was pretty good. They have just about everything and even make omlets to order. The main complaint that we had in Horizons was the ice machines always seems to be down. They would bring out ice but then we had long lines to get it. The staff never seemed to like that you had a soda card either if you were in a lounge and just wanted a Coke. They wanted you to buy a drink. Oh yea, most mixed drinks were in the $6-8 range. Don't get the "Carnival" cup and it saves you money.

2. The shows - great! couldn't have been better! Those dancers and singers left it all out there! We were very impressed. We have worked with little theater and know a little bit about that stuff and they were the tops! We did not go to the "R" rated comedy show since that is not our thing

3. The rooms - Nice- we had an ocean view and our kids had an inside bunk cabin. Both were fine. Our stewart was MORE than fine. He went above and beyond! He called us by name in the hall and had our cabin spic and span evertime we walked in it!

4. Kids pool - GREAT- The new water slides are sooo cool. Our 10 year old spent hours there.

5. Camp Carnival- um, pretty good.- Our son loved it. We weren't quite as impressed. They had good activities but it seemed rather unorganized at some of the activities we checked on.

6. O2 teen club - Really good. Our 16 year old had a great time playing games and dancing to music. He made some great friends from all over the US

7. Best Asst. Cruise Director EVER!-Kirk was great! He made playing BINGO the most fun game I have ever played. Brandon was great too. They worked well together. Alas Kirk will be going to the Spirit soon as Cruise director though.

8. Embarking - no problems- get your drink cards from the bar in the lobby as you go in. Lanyards for the cards are available in the casino for free (for adults only) once you are at sea. they will punch holes in the cards for you at the purser's desk.

9. Purser's Desk- They always had a smile! No matter what they were handling, they smiled! We were impressed!

10. Tender Ports of call- you have to get a sticker in the Dynasty lounge to get on the tender. All memebers of your party must be there, ready to go, get the sticker and then wait to have your # called to board. Kind of a pain and not explained too clearly ahead of time.

11. If you are docked - You can get off the ship as you please, once you wait in line for ever! Getting back on is the same thing if you wait until the last minute. Get there an hour early so you can get right on the ship.

12. Disembarking - This was our only real complaint. Talk about disorganized! We were supposed to get off earlier because we kept our bags to take of ourselves, but they started calling the people to leave by decks before they called the "self assist" people and so we had everyone trying to leave at once. The elevators were jammed and once they actually got you to your floor you couldn't get off because there was no room! We got off the ship about an hour and a half after we were ready to go!

Sorry this was long but I hope it helped. Feel free to ask anything else!

Thanks! I know the class of ship since I've been on both the Fantasy and Inspiration two times. Has anyone been on it recently that can tell me how children ages 7 and 9 liked Camp Carnival? Also how about the water works? Was it always crowded?

I'm sure the new renovations are phenomenal! We can't wait!

We just booked Imagination for July 10. I'm curious, does the ship dock or tender in Cozumel? Or perhaps it will depend on how many ships are in port that day? Anyone recently off who can shed some light on their experience??

I've been to Cozumel 5 times. We've never tendered in. So, I'm thinking we're docking. But, I'm not sure which pier.

Why don't you join us on our roll call. Here's the thread: http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?p=15073385#post15073385. There's not a lot of posts, but I've noticed that roll calls for shorter cruises usually start getting busier about 2 weeks before sailing. Oh, and I just booked this cruise on Monday. :) I got an awesome deal!

Does the Imagination have a service where you pay around $15.00 a person & they check your luggage through from the ship to your plane? We don't want to go directly to the airport when we arrive back in Miami. This "bags program" was available on another cruiseline we were on this year and I wish we had used it.

Mom2girls,

When we sailed the Imagination in Feb. my kids were 6 and 9. They absolutely loved camp. But waterworks was the biggest hit. They never wanted to leave. There are many chairs for you to sit in and see them, but relax with a cool drink. Have a great cruise and enjoy this NEW ship.

Hey All,

This is an awesome link! We are cruising on Imagination on July 14th and I'm looking for some feedback on the Riviera Deck, cabin 181 area. Positive or negative, we welcome any feedback at all. It is an oceanview cabin but I'm concerned about being on the bottom passenger floor. My wife has experienced sea sickness before and we are hoping this is not going to be an issue again (might have been the multiple margaritas!):D .

Engine Noise?

Foot traffic from the Main Deck above?

Any feedback is appreciated!

Thanks...it's getting close!

Hey folks! Saw another thread talking about hairpdryers on Fantasy Class ships and would like to ask "anyone" (DayNab etc...) whom has just recently gotten off Imagination if they have hairdryers installed now??? According to Carnivals website they are claiming Fantasy class ships do NOT have them but according to a few others on these other forums they do. Does anyone know the truth of it all ??? Much Thanks Mikil

We just got off the Imagination this weekend. There are NO hair dryers in the rooms. They also did away with the refrigerators.

Thanks for the info about the hairdryers BUT I think you maybe incorrect about the fridges. I have read that Fridges are ONLY in Balcony Suites Cat 11 and 12 on Fantasy class ships and NOT in regular staterooms. What room were you in ? Much thanks for the Hairdryer info though? Thanks much Mikil

You may be correct about the fridges...I was on the Empress level and did not have a fridge in the room.

Hello Sothpaw!! Welcome aboard for the 14th. My family and I will be on board with you. I was beginning to think there were NO cruise critic members on this cruise. There was a 4 post roll call for it, but no one was responding.

Anyway, this is our second time on Imagination. We were on Empress deck last time and Main deck this time, so i really can't help with the Riviera questions.

I can say that I am very prone to motion sickness, but I didn't have any issues when we were on Imagination in January. I could feel the movement of the ship, but never got that queezy feeling. Be careful in the photo area. On past cruises, I've had issues while looking through all those pictures and getting queezy (kinda like reading in a moving car....I can't do that  ).

Anyway, you're gonna love Imagination and I'm sure you'll love the itinerary. This is the same itinerary we took in January. We liked it so much, we booked it again!!

Hey folks! Has anyone recently gotten off Imagination and noticed what type of chairs they have on the suite balconies????? Are they Plastic (The cheap Walmart kind) or Aluminum? the kind that seem to be on the poolside area???? I was told that "ALL" Fanstay class ships will be refurbished with the aluminum kind for safety s sake (plastic is a fire hazard) Im just wondering if they have been replaced yet Your help would be appreciated Thanks Mikil
