Cruiseforfun1 Posted February 12, 2008 #26 Share Posted February 12, 2008 We sailed on Tropicale for our first cruise in 2000. it was a great experience. I would love to cruise on her again under any name. Don't think I can afford to go to Australia or New Zealand to cruise though!:( . As someone else said, we thought she was huge, until she pulled in next to a really big one. And the really big one she pulled in next to is considered small now! G.F. momofmeg Posted February 15, 2008 #27 Share Posted February 15, 2008 Yep, we have retired a few ships. Even our sons have retired two(Tropicale and Jubilee) and soon will be retiring a couple of more. Tropicale was our first real cruise-she definetely HOOKED us on crusing. Since them we have also been on the original Pacific Princess and Celebrity Zenith. We have been on three ships that have been retired and we loved all three because they were small. I just don't get the "feel" those ships gave me on these superliners.
gonecruzin Posted February 16, 2008 #28 Share Posted February 16, 2008 The last cruise out of Australia is Febuary 25th from Auckland to Sydney and then will leave the fleet in March to be transferred to Pullmantur cruises in Spain.

adamsmom Posted May 4, 2008 #31 Share Posted May 4, 2008 We sailed on the Tropicale out of Tampa almost exactly 10 years ago for our 10th anniversary. I personally like a smaller, more intimate ship. We made some new friends and had lots of fun. Here are a few pics--sorry about the poor quality, these are pictures of pictures. Didn't have the digital stuff back then. The ship Our oceanview cabin Back of the ship Bridge tour Waterslide Ice carving demo And I won a "24 karat solid gold plastic ship on a stick" trophy for Name That TV Tune. It still sits on my bookshelf. There was a British cruise director that did Tom Jones impressions. And a comedian that was hysterical.
GalFitness19 Posted February 13, 2011 #32 Share Posted February 13, 2011 She's now referred to as the Ocean Dream. Sailed her February '95 out of New Orleans, went to Tampa, Cozumel & Grand Cayman. Met my husband on that trip! I looked her up and got recent photos: http://images.search.yahoo.com/images/view?back=http%3A%2F%2Fimages.search.yahoo.com%2Fsearch%2Fimages%3F_adv_prop%3Dimage%26b%3D22%26ni%3D21%26va%3Dpullmantur%2Bocean%2Bdream%26xargs%3D0%26pstart%3D1%26fr%3Dytff1-&w=620&h=248&imgurl=www.pullmantur.es%2Fcs%2FSatellite%3Fblobcol%3Durldata%26amp%3Bblobkey%3Did%26amp%3Bblobtable%3DMungoBlobs%26amp%3Bblobwhere%3D1211205748962%26amp%3Bssbinary%3Dtrue&rurl=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.pullmantur.es%2FEN%2FOceanDreamShip%2Fsp1211198012568.html&size=101KB&name=Ocean+Dream+Ship&p=pullmantur+ocean+dream&oid=52df8126a65f88180d3cb6f2f58fc3c4&fr2=&no=41&tt=1950&b=22&ni=21&sigr=11vtg932f&sigi=144u7je6u&sigb=13sodgq5k&.crumb=zUPtsgQ7QLA
GalFitness19 Posted February 16, 2011 #33 Share Posted February 16, 2011 Taken February 1995. She went from New Orleans to Tampa, Cozumel and Grand Cayman. The photo taken aboard has the New Orleans skyline in the background. The other was taken in Cozumel, where I felt ship envy when the Ecstasy docked next to her.
