margu1241 Posted April 22, 2004 #1 Share Posted April 22, 2004 I will be on Pride of Aloha, docking in Kahului and renting a car. We are thinking of doing the Haleakala zipline in the morning and then driving over to Lahaina to spend the afternoon and go to Old Lahaina Luau at night. Is this possible in a day? What are the roads like from Haleakala to Lahaina. Thanks, Patty Pride of Aloha
10X Posted April 22, 2004 #2 Share Posted April 22, 2004 That's one busy day, but I supppose it can be done. The roads from Haleakala to Lahina are fine, except that you can get caught up in some very slow traffic at times. One day in February, a normal 15-20 minute trip from Maalaea Harbor to our condo took me 45 minutes. Traffic was never stopped, just slow. spleen93 Posted April 23, 2004 #3 Share Posted April 23, 2004 Busy but doable. The road from Maalaea to Lahaina is the problem area since it's a narrow road with no other detours. It can slow down with accidents and traffic on occasion. Spleen until RSSC Navigator - Canada - 6/04 Carnival Conquest - W.
