Tipping envelopes

If we want to give our tips in person should we tell the purser's desk soon after we board or do we have to wait til the second last day? Also, if we are paying the tips ourselves, does Carnival still supply envelopes or should I bring some?

They apply the $10 a day tip to your sail and sign card immediately, so to avoid congestion at the end of the cruise, I would go earlier. I think they probably still have envelopes available, but would recommend bringing your own just to be sure. They give you an envelope to tip the Maitre D the last night, so I assume they have them available.

The Purser's desk has blank envelopes. Myself, I leave the tip on the S&S card. If someone deserves extra (and they almost always do) I hand them an envelope with something additional on the last night.
