Question about St Thomas port capacity...

I just noticed on cruisecal that there will be something like 4 ships total ported in St Thomas on the same day as when our cruise will be there.

 

Can anyone tell me what the crowds will be like and how excursions will be most likely affected?

 

We have never been to St. Thomas so I am just curious as to what to expect. Will it be hard to get around and will the beaches be crawling as a result?

They can handle as many as 7 ships in St. Thomas. At 4 it will be busy enough but not too bad. We would head to Megans Bay first thing and shop in the afternoon with 4 ships in.

Magen's bay will be very busy and crowded. If you want to go there do so early.

We were in St. Thomas last week and there were 7 ships in port. All the ships except 1 carried over 2000 people. RCI Liberty of the Seas carries over 4000. The downtown area was plenty crowded. We got out of town!!!and went sailing with Jolly Mon. Great sail!!
