Reneei Posted September 18, 2004 #3 Share Posted September 18, 2004 For those of you who have used downy wrinkle release please tell me where you bought it. I have checked at CVS and food stores and can't find it. Also I have a punch for my sea card. Do you have to be which end you punch? thanks Downy Wrinkle Release can be purchased at Walmart (in the detergent section). I have already tried it and it DOES work! As for the Lanyards...I think a sporting good store would have them, or maybe a uniform place????
Toto2Kansas Posted September 18, 2004 #4 Share Posted September 18, 2004 DWR does work wonders on most clothes. As for the lanyard, I buy the ones at Walmart that have a little see through plastic ziplock thick plastic thing attached. DH uses them all the time and he can also put things like small bills inside with his card for tipping bartenders.
gypsygirl Posted September 18, 2004 #5 Share Posted September 18, 2004 I've bought Downy at Wal-Mart and the local supermarket. Yes, it works very well.
SPGryphon Posted September 18, 2004 #6 Share Posted September 18, 2004 We got ours from A local grocery store (Kroger). However....The security folks in San Juan took it away from us.  We have another type we're goign to bring with us this time. Got it in the travel section of the local Container Store. We'll see what happens.
natish3000 Posted September 18, 2004 #7 Share Posted September 18, 2004 If you can't find Downy Locally go on Proctor & Gamble's website and you should be able to get it there. YOu can buy the lanyards at OfficeMax. I used to work for P&G and currently work for OfficeMax so this is accurate.
mohavemommy Posted September 18, 2004 #8 Share Posted September 18, 2004 The wrinkle release works very good, and I buy mine at Wal-Mart. As for my lanyard, I bought mine from Cruise Critic. It is very durable and I wear mine daily. I have had people ask about it so I can then share Cruise Critic with them. It is a medium blue with a gold color lettering. You can find it here: http://www.cruisecritic.com/store/product.cfm?ID=
PTarbay Posted September 18, 2004 #9 Share Posted September 18, 2004 I bought my wrinkle release at BJ's Wholesale Club.It is a very large size but as a bonus came with a smaller travel size.I just refill the smaller one when it is empty.
tmcraine Posted September 18, 2004 #10 Share Posted September 18, 2004 Rather than spend the money, I bring a plastic spray bottle which I fill with water once on ship. This works great on cotton or cotton blend fabrics. Spray them lightly with water, shake them out and they're ready to wear. I even do this at home. RM Posted September 19, 2004 #11 Share Posted September 19, 2004 Dollar Generals Wrinkle Release works also. Less expensive. I love this stuff as it makes my life so much easier!
abridalmaven Posted September 19, 2004 #12 Share Posted September 19, 2004 Locally I used to be able to get it in most supermarkets, but those sources dried up, but I wrote to them and found it at Target
joto Posted September 19, 2004 #13 Share Posted September 19, 2004 Just don't use the DWR on silk fabrics. I gently sprayed it on a silk blouse and it left an small water mark. I had to send the blouse to be dry cleaned on the ship and it came back as new.

Sea Island Lady Posted September 19, 2004 #16 Share Posted September 19, 2004 Dollar Generals Wrinkle Release works also. Less expensive. I love this stuff as it makes my life so much easier! Is this type aerosol or pump spray? I buy an aerosol that I prefer over the Downey. It sprays more evenly and doesn't clog up. The fragrance is a fresh spring smell. It is called Magic Wrinkle Releaser.

maadimom Posted September 20, 2004 #19 Share Posted September 20, 2004 I love DWR, but it's not available here. I read the label and decided to make my own. I just refilled my bottle with distilled water (ours has too much calcium) and added a very small amount of fabric softener. It works exactly the same way and I like the smell better. Best part is...it's almost free!
