A length of nylon rope.

Q Tips

Leatherman tool, etc.(packed in the suitcase, of course!)

Meds.(what they sell onboard is a rip-off)

I bring small, weighted clothespins to keep the shower curtain from sucking in on you. (and it works with the rope for drying clothes on the balcony!)

An open, happy attitude.(smiles are contagious!);)

Travel Alarm Clock with lighted face that runs off a battery.

Mini roll of packaging tape (great for helping to protect gifts wrapped in clothes or taping the capers on the wall for the day, etc)

Four or five fabric softener sheets in a ziploc bag. Drop one in your dirty clothes mesh bag each day and it keeps everything fresh. Take the dirty clothes mesh bag and place it one suitcase on the return. When you get home half the unpacking is stopping at the washing machine.

A zippered bank bag. Perfect for putting sales receipts, charge slips, airline tickets, and all the other pieces of paper you seem to collect throughout a week of traveling.

Bungee Cord

An extra expendable plastic type card with a magnetic strip on the back (IE Kroger grocery card, sams card, supermarket discount, etc) This is to use in locking the safe while not jeopardizing your room key.

Collapsable hamper(s)

Travel clock

Magazines/Books

Sticky Notes

Chargers (cell phone, computer)

Hair dryer (in room is usually weak)

Your own "special" toiletries

Beach Bag

Extra batteries

Collapsable tote bag in case you have a lot of goodies to bring home:D

Bubble/plastic wrap for purchased breakables, i.e perfumes, Lladro, etc. (The boxes that they come in are too bulky)

Packing tape

Plactic cup(s) with lid to use on excursions, gym, etc.

Small collapsable cooler

Reading glasses (if appliacable)

Sun Glasses

Copies of any paperwork for cruise, i.e excursions, itinerary, etc.

**I used some items that I purchased either from the dollar store or on sale, that I could either leave behind or throw away**

Have Fun:)

But based on your list, it sounds like you don't heed your own advice about letting the little things slide. Talk about the very smallest detail! ; )

I would bring a solid air freshener. I found on some cruises that the bathroom could be a little "stale" - even with the twice daily cleaning by the room steward. If you find that to be the case, pop one of these on the bathroom counter and no more problem. At the end of the cruise, simply throw away.

Leaving in less than 2 weeks. I have only done this once. So, I need some reminders. Other than money and/or the credit card, what are the top 10 items not to forget? Or maybe more than 10!

camera (and all cables)

power strip

lap top (and all cables)

carmex

sunglasses

carrying bag for ports and on ship

that's my MUST list, but my "Duh" list is as follows

clothes

cruise documents

makeup/toiletries

money (I know you said besides this, but I can't leave it off)

My list is pretty borring :D

One thing we take, although not crucial is a dry erase board/with marker.

We always have one or two grandchildren and the board is great so we always know where each other is. Kids are up late, if I go to bed early and then wake up. It is nice to check the board and know where they are. just something pretty handy.
