Will Be At Grand Cayman In A Few Weeks. What Is The Average Price For A Taxi P.p. There And Back? Also About How Much Do They Charge For The Lounge Chairs? Just Wondering How Much Actual Cash To Take With Me Off Of The Ship.

I believe it's around $5 per person, each way to get to Sea Grape. I'm not sure how much it is to rent chairs, but it seems like I've read it's somewhere around $10 or so. I'm sure someone will come along and post the exact amounts for you. :)

Oh...if you order food and drink, they most likely will add the tip to your ticket prior to giving it to you, so check your ticket. The first time we were there, we double-tipped.

It's easy to get to, but Royal Palms is about the same type of place only a bit closer to the port area. I think it's around $4 per person each way.

 

Here's Royal Palms website (the Reed Grill is there). Their other website was much better, IMO. This one is new and I find it not as informative. They used to have a "cruise ship" page, but I don't see that now (I could be missing it).

7MB is beautiful. There is nothing that's cheap about Grand Cayman. The food and drink is very expensive (we only order what we know we'll eat and many times we share things). The prices are in Cayman dollars. You can use credit cards (we always do and have no problems), or cash. If you use USD, and you're due change, they'll most likely give it to you in Cayman money, so carry some smaller bills. If I use cash, I always ask if I can get my change in USD...sometimes they are able to do this, sometimes they aren't.

 

Here's the Cayman Port Authority website. You can look and see how many ships will be in port the day you are there. If there is three or less, that's good. We've been there when there are 11 ships in port and it's crazy. I think I read where they are now limiting the number of ships to 7 or so, but I can't remember exactly.

So, if there are less ships, you'll have a much more enjoyable time. When there are a lot of ships, both Sea Grape and Royal Palms will be very, very busy. But we love Grand Cayman so much that we'd get off the ship, no matter how many ships are in port that day. :
