Twinboys Posted February 6, 2008 #1 Share Posted February 6, 2008 I searched the archives for this answer and can't find it. I have heard that many ships have salt water pools and would like to be prepared. Does Freedom of the Seas have fresh or salt water?? Thanks! :)

BillfromWV Posted February 6, 2008 #3 Share Posted February 6, 2008 Freedom has fresh water in all of the pools. My daughter loves it. Bill
familycruzer Posted February 6, 2008 #4 Share Posted February 6, 2008 I think the fresh water pools was one of my favorite things about the Freedom. I hung out at the waterfall in the H2O Zone more than my kids.

Sequim88 Posted February 6, 2008 #7 Share Posted February 6, 2008 On some show on Travel Channel a few years ago they said that virtually all pools on newer (last 10 years?) ships are fresh. As a by-product of the ships systems and the desalination plants they actually end up with a surplus of fresh water. I don't recall the technical reason except that it was something about waste hot water from cooling the engine systems which was cooled a steam distilation process that resulted in a lot of fresh water. At least that's the way I recall it. Especially overnight while the ship was underway but few passengers were using water. I guess they ar enot supposed to dump the heated water back into the ocean...not environmentally PC.
