brunolvr Posted February 7, 2008 #2 Share Posted February 7, 2008 we will be sailing on the dawn to alaska heres our ports Ketchikan juneau skagway victoria do we dock in all of these ports ? I would think that the only port you "may" tender in is Ketchikan. You can see which ships will be in port with you on the schedule now and they should be adding the berthing assignments to the schedule later this month. http://www.claalaska.com/schedules.html
melika091900 Posted February 7, 2008 Author #3 Share Posted February 7, 2008 thanks for the great link so how many ships fit in each port? i just noticed theres like 3 ships at most ports with us..
agabbymama Posted February 7, 2008 #4 Share Posted February 7, 2008 You can't count on the schedule being right. It said we were going to dock in Juneau, but the day we arrived, we ended up tendering. Sitka is the only POSITIVE tender port. None of the cruise ships can dock here. Tendering isn't bad, just a little more time consuming.

On our 6 previous cruises to Alaska, the schedule has been correct except once. Several years ago, we were scheduled to tender in Juneau (before they built the new dock) but one ship had a problem wasn't going to come to Juneau so we got to dock.:)
brunolvr Posted February 8, 2008 #6 Share Posted February 8, 2008 thanks for the great link so how many ships fit in each port? i just noticed theres like 3 ships at most ports with us.. Hi, melika! I believe Ketchikan has room for 3 ships to dock; Juneau can dock 4 large ships (and at least one smaller one); Skagway can dock 4 large ships and Victoria has room for 3 ships. I hope you have a great cruise and enjoy Alaska! -Sandy-
