Dawn Beach Questions

Hoping that some who have been there can help with a few last minutes questions.

 

Is this beach large enough that it will have wavy areas and more calm areas?

 

Are the waves large enough to body surf?

 

Do they rent boogie boards for riding the waves?

 

If no to any of these questions, is there another beach that would be a yes t all three?

Everything depends on the weather.

 

Dawn Beach is a long beach, nearly half a mile from end to end, but I believe the wave action will be pretty consistent along the entire length.

 

Depending on the weather conditions I would expect it to have pretty good body surfing waves, or not. It depends on the winds coming in off of the Atlantic.

 

When Ms. B's was open, I know that they rented boogie boards. The restaurant closed, but the chair/umbrella rental remained open, and they (or someone new who set up shop there) offers rentals. Check the water conditions in the first two shots below, September 2007 and January 2008. Also note that Ms. B's Tent (the restaurant) has been removed. The next two photos are 2004 and 2005.
