Carnival Game Posted February 11, 2008 #1 Share Posted February 11, 2008 Has anyone used the self-service laundromat on the Victory? I can't tell from the deck plans where it's located. Or, if anyone has used the laundromat on any other ship, are they generally busy or not? Anyone know the hours? Any times better to go than others? I don't know if we should bring everything we need for a week (which would be a lot for two people considering shirts, shorts, jeans, and dress clothes) or pack light and take the chance of hauling a laundry bag through the ship only to find the machines full and people waiting, and then not have enough clean clothes. What has been your experience?
sandi-s Posted February 11, 2008 #2 Share Posted February 11, 2008 The ships I have been on, they are toward the back of the ship, each floor with cabins, and they are at times busy, but I have never had a problem with them. Towards the last day they seem to be busy. Takes lots of quarters, you can go to casino is open to get rolls or pursers desk.
RatherBFishin Posted February 11, 2008 #3 Share Posted February 11, 2008 Has anyone used the self-service laundromat on the Victory? I can't tell from the deck plans where it's located. Our cabin was located mid-ship on Riviera, and I remember seeing the laundry room. There was also a room with a soda machine that if you put in two $1 bills (price was $1.50 for a can), selected your choice, then after it was dispensed, pulled the coin return lever you got 6 quarters back. It didn't say crew only on the door, so I never knew if that was for passengers or not. I only did it once by accident, but I made a note in the journal I was keeping to try it again next time I cruised :)
Andrea0908 Posted February 11, 2008 #4 Share Posted February 11, 2008 Change is available at the Purser's Desk. We bring "Bounce" sheets and travel size laundry detergent from home. Best time to use the laundry facility is early morning or late evening. We have found that when we cruise, we end up wearing bathing suits every day, and wear our favorite clothes over again. We travel light and do laundry twice during a week long cruise. Everyone has their own preference. This is what works best for our family.
truecruiser Posted February 11, 2008 #5 Share Posted February 11, 2008 i had to do it once last year. it wasn't the greatest exp, lol. crowded and of course, there is always one pax who tries to shove something other than quarters in there, resulting in breaking all of the machines (well, that happened last year. hopefully there aren't many of that mindset around). best thing to do...skip self serve laundry altogether. if you do want laundry done keep your eyes out for the "stuff the bag for $15" special. it usually occurs once a cruise, and you can get soooo much into that bag if you are creative. great tip from aggieastrosfan: roll your jeans small. it works great! Carnival Game Posted February 11, 2008 Author #6 Share Posted February 11, 2008 Anyone know the laundry hours? Where do you get the "bag" to stuff for the special? Do you ask the cabin steward?
Rare Captain Funtime Posted February 11, 2008 #7 Share Posted February 11, 2008 When you reach Platinum.... free wash and fold laundry service. I have used the self laundry and it was hassle free. It isn't expensive to send things to the laundry. I find it easier than taking too many clothes.

I made this up before to help..... *****carnival_ship_launderette_locati.htm the only time I went was mid cruise (8 day) about 7:30 am.....had all of the machines to myself. I loaded them up and went to get breakfast. It was painless. this was the promo sheet from my last sailing
Carnival Game Posted February 11, 2008 Author #9 Share Posted February 11, 2008 That was helpful, chitown - thank you. Just saw what you added about the laundry special. It's jeans that I'll really need washed (they're heavy so I want to pack fewer) so I guess I'll have to launder my own.
shipgirl56 Posted February 11, 2008 #10 Share Posted February 11, 2008 We were on the Panorama Deck right by the elevators cabin 1061. We had to go down the stairs to deck 9 Lido to do laundry. The laundry room was right by the elevators across from cabin 9270. It was 8 quarters to wash and 8 quarters to dry. We had the 8 PM dinner. The laundry room seemed to clear out as people started going to dinner. 6:30 seemed like a good time to do wash and it took about an hour and 10 minutes - 25 min. wash and 45 min. dry.
