Time to get off Ship ?

1st timers here, Wife, me and little boy 4yr old. How long does it usually take to get off ship ? No Ship excursions. Doing our own thing. Renting Jeep for the day.

If you are an early riser you can go get your tender tickets and be one of the first ones off. Get a ticket for each person (they are free). My husband usually goes early and gets the tickets while we are still in the room getting up and ready since he is already up.

 

The ship usually has all of the people signed up for an excursion meet early in the theater and they go first, then you can go.

We just went last week. On RCCL we didn't have to get tender tickets, just read the compass to know where to exit the ship, head there and get in line-the line moved very quickly for us, we never stood still. In Grand Cayman we tendered so it took a smidge longer to get to the pier but not much. The first tenders were at about 8:30 am, we weren't on the first tender but we were on the pier by about 8:50am. We were to meet our tour group at 9:15 and I was a bit worried about making it in time, we ended up having plenty of time.

No tender tickets for us either on the Brilliance last month. The tour groups met and left on the first tenders and then we just walked up.

One point about Grand Cayman is that the seas are sometimes choppy and it may take the Captain some time to determine where the ship will be positioned and when the tenders can start. Our first time in Grand Cayman it was quite choppy so the Captain had to take the ship around to around part of the island and we tendered there; since then we have been three times to Grand Cayman and no problems.

Tour operators know the drill pretty well.
