Makaylala Posted February 13, 2008 #1 Share Posted February 13, 2008 My family and I will be taking a Princess cruise out of San Juan in March. I am looking for restaurant referral's for San Juan as well as St. Thomas, St. Kitts, Grenada, Bonaire and Aruba. We would like to experience the local, or Caribbean cusine. Looking for good food at moderate prices. Nothing to Americanized or touristy. Thanks for any referral's or advise you can give.
rainforestgirl Posted February 13, 2008 #2 Share Posted February 13, 2008 For lunch in OSJ for real PR food, you can try El Jibarito on Calle Sol. For dinner, things get a bit more touristy. I like Buren on Calle Cristo or Patio del Sam on San Sebastian Street.
Makaylala Posted February 13, 2008 Author #3 Share Posted February 13, 2008 Thank you so much for the info. We will be in SJ a few extra days, so maybe we can try them all. Thanks again!
phinfan63 Posted February 18, 2008 #4 Share Posted February 18, 2008 We had lunch at Glady's cafe in St Thomas and really enjoyed it. We all had the Jerk Mahi Mahi and it was wonderful (coming from someone who generally doesn't enjoy fish). We were told by several locals to go there so you shouldn't have any problem finding the place.
Makaylala Posted February 25, 2008 Author #5 Share Posted February 25, 2008 I saw a favorable write up for this cafe before, so it will probably be one of the first to try. Thanks for the information!
