Mahogany Beach/Mallards Beach

Can anybody give me any info on these beaches with regard to water sports, food, lounges etc. Have read Mallards beach is the place to go, can anybody confirm this? Many thanks for any information.

Karen, we started walking to Mahogany Beach when we visited Ocho Rios last year because it looked close on the map but it was not a very nice neighborhood and the way was confusing so we hopped in a cab, which was also not very pleasant. It was very close but it was not a worthwhile beach at all. It was small and not pretty. There seemed to be some watersports available but no one was using them. I would skip it. We did walk back to the ship and stopped in a grocery store where I purchased some Jamaican Blue Mountain coffee beans to bring home, so I guess it was all worthwhile!
