yojimbo Posted December 11, 2004 #56 Share Posted December 11, 2004 grasshopper, Hard to get a precise answer, but it seems there are about 3 ahead of us on the wait list. We are looking into alternate plans, and may have to "pull the trigger" on those plans before hearing from Cunard.
yojimbo Posted December 15, 2004 #57 Share Posted December 15, 2004 OK folks, we're getting down to the wire. Still haven't cleared the wail list for the QEII Christmas cruise. Please focus your positive energy. Thank you. :)
mtbny7 Posted December 15, 2004 Author #58 Share Posted December 15, 2004 What type of cabin are you waiting for? Or will anything do? Michael (I am praying for to St. Ile de France for you!)
yojimbo Posted December 15, 2004 #59 Share Posted December 15, 2004 Michael, We're waitlisted in a couple of Caronia categories (I think C2 and C4), though at this point I'm open to other options. I did turn down one of the penthouses a few weeks ago ($26,000 per person was a bit outside of our budget). Thanks for the prayers. Keep 'em coming. yojimbo Posted December 17, 2004 #61 Share Posted December 17, 2004 Michael, Still no good news from Cunard. As of yesterday, there were a few cabins available on a guarantee basis, but they could not book us a triple cabin. mtbny7 Posted December 21, 2004 Author #64 Share Posted December 21, 2004 HI I was away from computer... and now I'm packing for today's departure! Yojimbo, what happened? What was available to you? Are you on? Michael
yojimbo Posted December 21, 2004 #65 Share Posted December 21, 2004 Michael, I'm afraid there is no good news to report. We were not able to clear the wait list. We are very disappointed. As of yesterday (Monday) Cunard was still selling guarantee cabins in several categories. But they were not able to sell us a cabin for the three of us. As I write this I am but a few blocks from the QEII, ready willing and able to hop on board. More than a little frustrating. Anyway, I wish you and your friends and fellow sailors a wonderful voyage. I hope you all enjoy the grand lady and make some great memories. Jim
mtbny7 Posted December 21, 2004 Author #66 Share Posted December 21, 2004 Jim, I'm sorry to hear that! But I'm sure you will have a grand holiday... you are someone who likes to LIVE! Bye! Michael
