Anyone been to Rum Point recently?

I know there's a thread here about Rum Point & it seems as though it's wonderful. But the thread began a few years ago. I've done a search on "Rum Point" but the web site keeps timing out on me (surprised?).

So I'm wanting to hear from people who have recently been to Rum Point Beach. Is it worth the drive all the way over there? It was on the top of my to-do list a couple weeks ago but when I discovered it was about a 40-minute drive I crossed it off. Now I wonder if we should get out there anyway. There'll be 8 of us ... including 4 boys (16, 12, 10, 5) & my 69 yr-old mother.

Thanks.

Hey!

I was there on Christmas Eve. DEFINITELY make the effort to go out there. We absolutely loved it. We've been cruising for 23 years and that is one of our favorite beach days. Perfect for your kids and your mother. Renting the car is fairly easy and the drive is an easy one. I would suggest getting off the ship early. Go ahead and reserve your car now....Avis in Grand Cayman is very good. They speed you along your way and there is a quick check in on the return. We didn't have any problems. Here is a pcture.....it's just beautiful there.
