OhioBeachBum Posted September 22, 2004 #2 Share Posted September 22, 2004 Hey Guys 1st time cruiser... booked thru a TA.....this is what she quoted: 2 cabins,1x OV gaurantee, 1x inside Guarantee 5 People (mom, dad, 15,13,11) $2133 total..... 1000 deposit and 1133 due 12/31/04.... I found it online for $2016.10 with the same deposit. That's a decent price for a TA which is useful if you've never cruised before (assuming they're a good TA). Does that include travel insurance? The quote I got did not. Enjoy!
Cotton Posted September 22, 2004 #3 Share Posted September 22, 2004 I would call a Carnival PVP (Personal Vacation Planner) and get a quote from her/him, just to see...? It's a wise person who checks several venues prior to actually booking a cruise; i.e., before booking a cruise, I check with a local TA, an online agency or two, and then Carnival PVP....The last three cruises, I have gotten a better deal thru the PVP. You gotta do your homework to get the best deal.;)
NewCruzer1 Posted September 22, 2004 #4 Share Posted September 22, 2004 That's a 5-nighter, so 5 people X 5 nights = 25 nights, or $85 per person, per night. To me, anything under $100 pppn is reasonable, it becomes exceptional around $80. So, you did pretty good.

abbyndrewmom Posted September 23, 2004 #6 Share Posted September 23, 2004 Hi, I'm considering this same cruise. We were quoted for a OV guarantee for $400.00 1st & 2nd, $280.00 3rd & 4th + $142.00 per person port charges. We are family of 4 with a 5 & 7 year old so two cabins is not an option. SevenVII Posted September 23, 2004 #7 Share Posted September 23, 2004 Its a good price considering the time of year you are going! But, you are getting guarantees so it is very likely you wont be anywhere near your kids, maybe not even on the same floor. Just a heads up if you didnt know :D
