pmdc5696 Posted February 24, 2008 #1 Share Posted February 24, 2008 I will be on RCCL Serenade of the Seas in April with my mother and my daughter (I CANT WAIT!!!). My mother travels with a 3 wheel scooter. I am planning on renting a minivan or small SUV that the scooter can be lifted into. Does anyone have any idea where this can be done near the pier? I am also interested in anyone with downloadable GPS maps of Barbados. I plan on bringing my compass as others have advised but would like to be alittle more sure of where we are going. Darcy8 Posted March 4, 2008 #2 Share Posted March 4, 2008 Let me know if you find a GPS map. I'd like to find one also. Darcy
rohan Posted March 4, 2008 #3 Share Posted March 4, 2008 Correct me if I'm wrong someone, but I'm pretty sure there are no GPS maps for Barbados. Okay, I may be wrong: http://www.gpss.tripoduk.com/samedown.htm According to the website: BARBADOS.GTX holds locations, accurate to one mile, of 420 villages in Barbados. If anyone is brave enough to try it out, let us know.
cinnam0n Posted March 4, 2008 #4 Share Posted March 4, 2008 If you just google "car rental" with "bridgetown" and "barbados," you will get lots of information on rental companies. Some will even deliver the car to you right at the pier!
pmdc5696 Posted March 6, 2008 Author #5 Share Posted March 6, 2008 I have looked at several maps now of Barbados and have tried to match them up with the satalite imagery on live earth. I have come to a startling realization. The maps don't match reality. They appear to be off substantially. So............we booked a driver and an SUV with Cameron Reid. Call me chicken.......but at least we won't be lost.
