This Travel Warning is being issued to inform American citizens of violent demonstrations in Haiti and to urge American citizens to defer non-essential travel to the country. Official Americans are restricted from travel to Haiti. American citizens visiting Haiti should consider departing as soon as circumstances permit. Americans in Haiti should remain vigilant in regard to their personal security, take commonsense precautions, and avoid any event where crowds may congregate. The violence may result in occasional limitation of Embassy operations to emergency services. Americans are also reminded of ongoing security concerns in Haiti, including frequent kidnappings of Americans for ransom.

I am ... Kyle is actually my name but Im definatley a woman! I love these boards for all of the great ideas and money saving tips.

I belong to this one and to the DIS boards about disney and have save SO much money when we cruise and when we go to disney.

And yes, I too will be enjoying a labadozee instead of paying for a mat!

krmlaw - I belong to DIS, too. I can't believe how much time and money we've saved there. This Sept. will be our 4th year of free dining.

I'm new to this board, but I'm already compiling a notebook of great information, so even though this is my first RCL cruise, I'll feel like a veteran when I board

Regarding bringing your own mats to Labadee, does anyone have as much trouble blowing them up as I do? I've tried it camping a few times, but now resort to the air compressor that plugs into the car lighter. I'd really like to save the $$ by bringing our own, but don't want to spend my morning trying to inflate my mat  and miss out on critical relax time :)

What does rccl usually do if scheduled stop is their "private island" Labadee? Do they still stop there?

Yeah, this shouldn't affect stops at Labadee, should it?

It hasn't in the past. Labadee is a separated part of Haiti, far away from the violence reported. If RCCL feel it's a safety concern, this port will not be visited and a day at sea would be added. They do everything within their power to keep guests safe, and RCCL would state on the website if the itinerary has changed due to it..

Hi all - just posted our review and pictures of our Liberty cruise which can be found here:

GREAT review! Thanks for posting. Ecstatic to hear that Schooner is non-smoking now! YAY! I can love my trivia games even more. Sorry to hear the bar side of Bolero's is still smoking though...I love Spanish music/dancing and I can never stand to be in Bolero's during those busy times. They're losing mucho Mojito dinero from me!!! lol :p

Thanks Christie! Jack and I really loved that Schooner was non-smoking too - we were so excited when we boarded and found that out!

Whats up with the penguins on Liberty?

Also, did anyone else see the new luggae requirements? Only one bag now allowed, $25 each way for additional bags. Southwest and American still allow 2. All others only one!

Cool thread.

We're doing Liberty in September.

On our last Cruise [Mariner, November 07] we did a "James Bond Martini Madness" thing at Vintages which turned out to be a bit of a highlight for us. Can anybody say if this, or any similar event, is held on Liberty?

I don't recall one on the cruise last week, just martini sales of 20% off @ Schooner Bar and Olive or Twist (on alternate evenings) between 4:30 - 8:30. We took full advantage of that!:p
