Fishing in Seward

Hi, have a full day in Seward and my son (10) wants to fish. Can anyone recommend a fishing tour that is "kid-friendly"? Thanks!

The date can make a difference on what kind of fish. Do you want salmon or halibut? August has most of the charter boats fishing for silver salmon, esp during the derby. Halibut is my favorite with best results requiring a 2 hour ride to prime, deep waters.

 

Alaska Saltwater Lodge does a great job. You could do a combo wildlife viewing and have some in the boat too.

 

If any in your party is military, the Seward Resort offers discounts.

 

The Fish House in the small boat harbor does the majority of fishing charter bookings with 80 or so boats on their list.
