Balcony Question on Liberty

We are thinking of booking a balcony cabin on Liberty. Just curious if anyone has an opinion as to if it is worth it to upgrade categories?? We were interested in the category 9A, but not sure if it is worth the extra money. Any thoughts??

We went on the Liberty last September. We booked in December 2006 as a category 8A. We ended up getting a free upgrade to 8D, Lido Deck. It wasn't a 9A, but you might just get lucky with a free upgrade. Good luck!

We thought it was worth the money after seeing pictures of a wrap/aft balcony on these boards.

Was on the Liberty back in Sept 2007 on the Lido deck. There is nothing like watching the sunrise coming into a port right after waking up. Lido deck was also nice because it was just a short walk to the deck chairs and big screen.

An alternative would be to try to get an aft balcony. They are cheaper and very nice. We have found that balconies for us are under utilized. We like to be on deck if we are out to sea and other than having a few breakfast on the balcony we do not spend a lot of time in the room.

 

Don't count on getting an upgrade to a 9A for booking an 8A since it is in a different category.
