Looked at other cruise lines, back to CCL.

It also depends on which port you chose to leave from. MOST cruise lines do not leave from the port we live close to, and I don't see any sense in flying paying an extra 2000 for flight to NY, or SF, or Texas to sail on another line.

Most of my facts are baised on what I was told about DCL 5 yr ago by someone who went on there, And I am not just talking dinner in the main dining room. These people had the same waiter ragardless of where they chose to eat. He even delivered their room service. He was by their side at breakfast, lunch, snacks, and dinner. But like I said that was years ago when DCL first started. Apparently it did not work out too well.

If you leave out of PC, on RCL, no you do not have the wave pool. But you are still paying for the Rock wall. I said with our discount DCL was about 1000 more expensive. For those who do not get the discount, it is nearly 2000 more expensive.

What shows other than little mermaid, nemo, and things I see at the park all the time. Plus being a cast member, I DON'T WANT TO SPEND MY VACATION AROUND WHAT I SEE 5 DAYS A WEEK. do you get my point. But i did check the price anyway, and it was still nearly 1500 more for the week that I want.

I guess some of you even though you worked at the parks, you would still go on DCL for your children, or because you are just that into disney. I want to get away from the parks on vacation. That is the purpose for vacation. and if i go on a DCL ship, am i not still considered in the same rut I was in before I chose to go on vacation?

I AM NOT TRYING TO BASH THE OTHER LINES. if it sounds that way, I am sorry. I AM JUST TELLING IT AS IT FOR MY FAMILY. Rccl ships are ugly in my opinion. But more people prefer them because they have mostly balcony cabins. I don't care for the balcony. If I went to Alaska, then yes, I would want the balcony, or even on a transatlantic cruise, but just to do the caribbean, i don't need it. Plus we did not use it.

As for Rccl, I am not saying I will NEVER cruise them, but I am saying that there is no need for me to pay the extra for the same ports same exchursions, etc. Just to look at that ugly rock wall when i go on deck. Maybe when i turn 60 i will go on Rccl. but as long as my DD is cruising with us, we will do CCL.

CCl has always been more affordable for my family and I. As we live on a limited budget. Our tax return helps us sail. NOTHING else pays for these cruises.

We can not afford to go on the other lines. We have a budget of 300 on our sail and sign card, and we take 500 with us. 100 each he and I for the casino, and 300 for the ports. If the money is not used in the ports, we use it in the casino.

If some of you are lucky enough to sail 5 times a year, and spend 1200 - 3300 per cruise, then more power to you. I wish I could. But we live on a normal family budget. We save and scrimp for our cruises.

If I had half the money that 60% of you spend on drinks on the cruise, I would be able to cruise once a month.

Our first cruise was with RCL. I have to admit it was a while back, when our daughter was quite young (she is graduating college this Spring..so it was a while back!:o ) Anyway, we really liked our cruise with RCL. Food was very good, waite staff was excellent, remembered our drinks & had them at the table every night before we arrived. They had a great children's program. To sweeten the trip, we won the final coverall night on bingo (the only night we played!). It was enough money to pay for another family cruise the following summer, which turned out to be the first of our 6 Carnival cruises. The only thing that disapointed us on the RCL cruise was the early time everyone turned in for the night. I am sure that has changed, like their ships, over the years.

Cruise #2 thru #7 have all been through CCL. Guess that says alot. We just found we 'fit-in' better with CCL. I did try to book a RCL cruise for this summer but couldn't find one that went where we wanted to go when we needed to go. I still would like to try their new mega liners. But, for now, CCL suits us just fine, especially their Conquest sized ships. We just love those! Sailed the Conquest twice out of New Orleans. Would do it again if she ever goes pack to that port.

This May, we are excited about our Valor cruise!:D

Happy cruising everyone!

but what I am saying is this..... WHY PAY THE DIFFERENCE IN PRICE AND SAIL THE OTHER LINES JUST FOR THEIR FREE BOTTLE OF CHAMPANGE, OR ROCK WALL, OR WAVE POOL? We do not use those things because we don't drink that much....Maybe 1 glass during the cruise at the captians cocktail party.

so for me to pay RCCL the extra 200 pp just for a wave pool that i will never step foot in, or a rock wall that I would not climb in 100000 years, is stupid when CCL has everything else that RCCL has for a lower price.

That is my arguement. If you were in a wheelchair, and were going to cruise on a ship, would you go with one that is charging you more than another just for the things that you can not use?

I don't think so. It is my money, and, i prefer to take the 500 i save for booking my family on carnival as opposed to rccl to have for in the ports, tips, or the casino.

I believe Carnival is the best cruiseline for you....

Unless you try them for yourself no one will convince you otherwise....

I used to think they same way you did until I did actually experience other lines. Boy am I glad I did. Because now I know the difference others have talked about. And those differences are what I paid the little extra money for...........and no it was not for the rock walls and wave pools:rolleyes:

As you can tell, Glory is our favorite ship. NOW i am told that it is a possibility that she will be changing ports in the next few years. I just hope we get a simular ship, or a bigger one. WE love this ship.
