Book in CAD or US dollar?

For Canadian travellers:

Do most travellers booking directly through the cruise line book in Canadian dollar or US dollar?

If you book in US dollars and the Canadian dollar gains or drops significantly, does the cruise line adjust the price?

And do they mark up a few points on the exchange to add a bit of profit?

I don't think they will adjust it after payment.

You simply get the exchange rate for the day that your deposit is charged, then the exchange rate for the day the final payment is made.

Not sure if they bump up the exchange rate but I think it's usually correct to a 10th of a percent.

For our latest cruise (this Dec) we paid in U.S. $ after I calculated we would save over $110 Canadian. The cruise supplier was using a conversion rate of 1.4 for calculating their Canadian rates. Considering that the current conversion rate is less than 1.3 this made paying in C$ significantly more expensive. Also we have a U.S. $ bank account - so it was easy just to take money out of that.
