Celebs at Atlantis

My husband and I use to go to the Bahamas quite often. While we never actually saw anyone at the Altlantis. We heard from the staff that some were staying there at the time. This seemed to be common especially in the suite you are talking about.

I know that alot of celebrities have built houses in that area.

The ocean club--sister property to Atlantis (moreo of the beaten path) I heard a lot of celebrities stay there. We had dinner there one night. I did not recognize anyone but my husband did. I do remembe the waiter that night listing off names of people who has been there or where there but we did not see any. Nice place for dinner but very expensive.

Scubagirl- Have you had any luck with celebrity sightings?

No, not anymore. Last season they paid a lot of b list celebs (lindsay lohan types) to come and celebrate the Cove opening.. but after that noone significant has returned. Celebrity events like Michael Jordans Golf Classic bring in a lot of celebs for gambling.. but they usually either stay at the OceanClub or at the posh homes nearby and at Lyford Cay.

Last month there was an NBA week with a few players.. but it's not really the draw it used to be.

Even the last Regis and Kelly didn't bring in the crowds.

Personally.. I've seen many.. we own a party boat.. had many private parties .. from Mike tyson, stevie wonder. victoria secret models and even mr. jordan.

My fav spottings were Pierce Brosnan (very nice), Jessica Alba (cool and funny) and late nite bar hopping with the late Richard Harris (awesome fun).

Still milling around from time to time is Sean Connery .. quite an interesting man. You can sometimes see him on the golf course if his friends are in town.. otherwise.. he plays at Lyford Cay.. where he lives.

As for the Bridge suite. Michael Jackson, elton john and oprah havent' stayed there since the opening.. back a decade ago.. but the tour guides tout it like it was yesterday.

It's more likely used for some Corporate big wig..

Several years back, a large group of friends & I were staying at Cable Beach for a wedding. We went to Atlantis one night to play at the casino. We watched a junkanoo (sp?) parade in the lobby - costumes, drums, dancing, etc. Shortly after, our group lined up for a photo & I backed up to snap the picture. Coming towards us, I hear noises, commotion, see lights (from TV news cameras), etc. I think it's another cool parade or something. One of my group yells, "It's Michael Jordan, go, go, go." I get absorbed into the entourage & keep walking. In short time, I move into Jordan's inner circle - me, him, security guards, and TV camera - and we walk into a high roller room / private gambling room. I thought my friends were right behind me. Thinking I scored entrance into the coolest party of our lives, I turned to the security guard, "my friends were right behind me. We need to let them in." He says, "Sorry miss, if you leave, you can't come back."

Of course, my friends were all the way back at the spot where I left them. They didn't follow me. They didn't even believe I made it into the party, until I showed them the one picture I managed to snap. :D
