Sofa bed quality at Tampa hotels, especially the Sailport Waterfront Suites

I am thinking of staying at the Sailport Waterfront Suites because of their view. My second choice would be the Holiday Inn Express in the same area (not as nice of view; probably no dolphins, stingrays, etc that you might see if you were at the Sailport)

But since the Sailport does not have shuttles to the pier or from the pier to the airport, I wanted to keep my costs down for paying the taxi fees of around $44 or more. That means I would be getting a 1-bedroom unit with a sofa bed.

So has anyone slept on the sofa bed at the Sailport? If so, what did you think of it? Could you feel the bar in the middle/underneath the mattress?

What about any other hotels that offer a sofa bed? Was it comfortable?
